FlightScope Tennis results from the 2008 merger between FlightScope and Jagro.
EDH, maker of FlightScope®, is a global high-tech company, a world leader in the development and manufacture of 3D Doppler ball tracking monitors, golf radars and launch monitors for sports.
EDH, founded in 1989 in South Africa by Henri Johnson, engineer, began by manufacturing Doppler Radar systems for the defense industry, measuring the speed of projectiles. EDH remains prominent in the defense industry today, supplying radar systems to more than 20 countries around the world.
With years of experience in Doppler radar and phased array tracking technology, EDH realized the need and opportunity to provide its technology for applications in various sports. That is how FlightScope came to be. With additional sports forthcoming, FlightScope now has applications in cricket ball tracking, to measure bowling speed; in tennis scoring, in the form of a chair-umpire scoring system; and in golf radar tracking, to measure ball and clubhead parameters for every club in a player’s bag.
FlightScope is in use by top golf instructors, club fitters and original equipment manufacturers around the globe. Committed to delivering a world-class product with exceptional after-sales support, in 2008 FlightScope relocated its headquarters to Orlando, Florida, a key location for much of the golf industry.
Jacek Gronek founded Jagro in 1996, aged 21.
The first service was for Snowboard Giant Slaloms, and by the end of 1996, 11 snowboard races were successfully timed.
In 1997, Jagro became the TAG Heuer electronic timing device distributor in Poland.
In 1997 Wojtek Szumilas, aged 17 joined Jacek Gronek as a partner, with great electronic engineering capabilities.
Over the years Jagro has offered professional technical services for many sports including Ski, Classic Ski, Ski Jumping, Snowboard, Speed Skating, Motorsports, Car Rallies, Equestrian, Tennis, Mountain Biking Down Hill, and Luge
In 2000 Jagro started to operate worldwide tennis events getting 35 tennis tournaments contracts in 2008 and totally 450 events days for all sports.
In 2008 Jagro merged its service capability with the FlightScope Tennis and another chapter of history started for two merged companies.
The combined company has a worldwide reach, supplying Tennis services to all levels of need, from Grand Slam Championships to Club games.
The people in the company have the experience and technicity to prepare and supply all levels of service, and travel to remote operations in far, wild and isolated areas, from its newly constructed premises.
